Normally I find things like this corny as hell. But given that I’m about to finish work in three days, exchanged for life on the road in a caravan, corny internet inspirationals somehow take on a whole new meaning.

My goal in life is not fame or fortune. It is simply to one day own a library with a ladder. (via ablogwithaview)

Jim Henson (September 24, 1936 – May 16, 1990). Henson may be gone, but his magic is not.

I like to think that Henson’s puppets were every bit as real to him as the people he spoke to every day.

How is it that bikes somehow always up the cool factor of photos like this? I guess you could say that I don’t even really own a bike. My last number was a fluoro purple mountain bike with cranking, grinding gears. Not really chic at all. Not something you’d imagine carrying a baguette, cute little puppy or bunch of flowers in its front basket.

So I wait for you like a lonely house
till you will see me again and live in me.
Till then my windows ache.

OMFG!!!!! So excited. You must watch this. It’s Gatsby. Gatsby, I say! I die.

Even the soundtrack to this trailer is just too much. Kanye and Jay Z? I DIE.

Look how weak I am, I couldn’t resist the cuteness so I had to post. This guy is the star of Bombay Bicycle Club’s film clip as mentioned below.

Apparently the artist here is Edward Gorey. These little GIFs are so goth and cool. They remind me of Tim Burton and the Addams Family.

Lately I’ve been getting back into music in a big way. I go through phases I guess. Bombay Bicycle Club’s songs are so pretty and happy. The film clip for this particular song is cute too.

This weekend was filled with delights for me. And oddly, a lot of food.

I went to see Florence + the Machine live and she was freaking amazing. Her set of lungs is truly enviable, her stage design was gorgeous and I frothed all over her outfit, naturally. She shed a cape to reveal an embellished onesie. What a legend. Florence was super cute and was very chatty to the crowd in her adorable proper English accent.

Before and after the event I headed to the very posh Rockpool. Here is a Pimm’s Cooler I enjoyed very much, mostly because it was delicious and was served in a teapot. I ordered paperdelle for dinner and our waiter joked that I might like some Brazilian parmesan. Sure enough a dark-haired lad popped up with a hand-crank cheese grater to shower my meal in the stuff. It seemed that cheese grating was his designated task for the evening.

Here is Florence, in her magnificent cape…

…and without it.

Then back to Rockpool for Creme Caramel and real port, obvi.

Next up on my culinary tour was Korean Barbecue, a first for me. It was lovely to have a dear friend in company and for moral support when the time came to actually cook your meal yourself. It was only once ordered that we realised we were paying $26 each for the pleasure of cooking ourselves dinner. The food was absolutely amazing though. We drank Japanese plum wine too. And a beautiful Korean mama came around to our table to make sure we were having a good time, which obviously we totally were.

Perth city sparkled in all its glory under the sunny weekend sky.

Today my hang over cure of choice was little soldiers! They came with slow cooked eggs and bacon mayonnaise. Phew!
