Hey y’all…
Remember how I couldn’t eat sugar? Well, my naturopath extended my cleanse for another two weeks because I was doing so well. There’s a lesson to all you overachievers out there.
Anyways, I’ve now come to the end of my “sentence”, if you will, and an extremely strange thing happened. I went out on Friday night, drank some wine and some cider, but not too much…and I was hung over as buggery.
The next day I went to a local Oktoberfest celebration, drinking mostly beer, and the same thing happened again. I’ve broken the alcohol cycle and I don’t even really feel like getting back into it, because it makes me feel like death!!! (“Thankyou”, whispers my liver with tears of joy in its eyes…”thank you!”)
And probably most devastating of all, I tried to eat a custardy fruit flan the other day and had to stop halfway through due to the sickly sweet sugar overload. My body is rejecting sugar, people! Who knew?
So the moral of the story is that the cleanse made me feel really good and there are things about it that I will try and instil into my life on a regular basis.
Oh, and just so you’re aware, when you type “cleanse” into Google images you’ll be confronted with some of the most frightening photos you’re bound to see in your life. I’m not even exaggerating. I’m talking “colon” and “gunk” used in the same sentence. So this post will have to go without a charming picture to illustrate it.
Em xx

I’ve just spent the last hour or so diving into the treasure trove that is etsy.com
Ho-lee shit.
Hello! Are you ready for a shameless promotion? Because I sure am.
I want you to go and have a look at the adorable website www.whensethmetnala.com
It is a new online store catering to all your pet pooch’s needs, and therefore the pooch-owning person’s needs. Nothing cheesy here folks, just tasteful accessories and products for the dog in your life!
Oh, and it’s been created by the beautiful bestie, B. So go and have a peruse.

PS. How super-cute is the graphic design and the shop front?
Sun-soaked and glamourous, I miss Liguria. These photos make me feel grateful that summer is on her way to the southern hemisphere. 1950s bathers, sunglasses, sundresses, cocktails, a tan, the warm breeze on your skin after dark. Music and outside barbecues. COME TO ME.
