REAL LIFE ORPHANED BABY OWLS (!)
I die. Two little teeny baby owls were orphaned and have been adopted by a safari park keeper in England. Why can’t this happen to me? Why? (I mean the looking after owls part, not the adopted by a zoo keeper bit).

Ondine
Last week I watched the lovely film Ondine, about an Irish fisherman who pulls up a mysterious woman in his net one day. His daughter firmly believes she is a selkie - one of those mythical folk who turn from seals to humans.
I am a sucker for any story involving selkies after I spent a good part of my childhood watching and re-watching The Secret of Roan Inish.
